Head of Spain
C-print, 25 x 28 inches, 2008

The freeway network of Spain was excised from a paper road map, then arranged to resemble head of a bull and photographed. I've been told that Spain is sometimes referred to as "la piel de toro" (bull skin) because of the description from the Greek geographer Strabonis, who compares the shape of Spain to a bull skin stretched out under the sun.
